The United States was awarded best tourist destination of the year for the third year in a row at the prestigious Norwegian Grand Travel Awards. The voting was done by more than 1,200 travel agents, randomly selected from all over Norway.

The 2015 Grand Travel Award was held on Thursday, January 8, at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia in Oslo. The event was organized for the 20th time by Travel News Magazine, an independent Norwegian travel trade magazine.

−Great honor

Chargé d’Affairs Julie Furuta-Toy was in attendance at the awards ceremony and said it was a great honor for the United States to win this Grand Travel Award for best tourist destination for the third year in a row.

An estimated 300,000 Norwegians traveled to the U.S. last year, a record number that keeps rising.
