The U.S. was voted favorite long haul holiday destination for the fourth year in a row at the Grand Travel Awards.

The Norwegian travel show Reiselivsmessen kicked off with the Grand Travel Awards gala dinner on January 14, 2016. The event was organized for the 21st time by Travel News Magazine, an independent Norwegian travel trade magazine.  The U.S. was voted favorite long haul holiday destination for the fourth year in a row at the Grand Travel Awards, voted by all the travel trade operators in Norway.

The Embassy’s Foreign Commercial Service is again co-organizer of the USA Pavilion at the Reiselivsmessen together with BrandUSA and Discover America Norway, with delegates representing among others Florida, the Real America (Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Denver and Minnesota), Route 66 and other service companies and local tour operators specializing in the U.S. market.  Norway has consistently posted double digit growth in travel to the U.S., confirming Norwegians’ love of the U.S.

A record 330,000 Norwegians visited the U.S. in 2015.
