Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s remarks with Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide before their meeting:

SECRETARY TILLERSON: Good morning, all. I want to welcome the Norwegian Foreign Minister Soreide to the State Department. Look forward to having some very important exchanges on a number of issues important to us in NATO, the Europe theater itself, but also Norway has been ever so supportive of our efforts to defeat terrorism, the defeat of ISIS, and have also been very supportive of our efforts to send the right messages to North Korea. So welcome, Minister. Pleased to have you.

FOREIGN MINISTER SOREIDE: Thank you.

SECRETARY TILLERSON: Thank you.

QUESTION: Mr. Secretary, should the President continue waiving JCPOA sanctions over this week?

SECRETARY TILLERSON: Well, he’s going to get to make that decision this afternoon. We have a session with him scheduled over at the Oval today.

QUESTION: What advice do you have for him?

SECRETARY TILLERSON: Thank you.
