The U.S. Embassy in Oslo has now introduced express delivery with Jetpak for visa applicants. This means applicants may have their passports returned faster to them once the visa application has been processed. By choosing express delivery, Jetpak guarantees delivery at any address in Norway by 4 p.m. on the next business day.
Visa applicants can now choose between regular mail delivery using the Norwegian Post, which is included in the visa fee, and express delivery using Jetpak. The price for express delivery is NOK 695, – + VAT in south-eastern Norway and larger towns throughout the country. Since prices may vary, we recommend that visa applicants who want Jetpak delivery call Jetpak on 09899 to check the price of delivery to their address, before selecting Jetpak as delivery mode.
Visa applicants must now choose their preferred mode of delivery when they book their visa appointment at ustraveldocs.com/no. It is possible to change the delivery mode before the visa interview is conducted, but not during or after.
Visa applicants who select Jetpak are responsible for checking the status of their application in the electronic visa application system. Once the application has been processed and the passport is ready for delivery, the applicant must call Jetpak to arrange for delivery and payment by card (payment with cash or by invoice is not possible).
Note that the mode of delivery does not impact the visa processing time, which is normally four business days.
All information about visas to the United States can be found at the Embassy’s official visa site. Travelers who need a visa are always encouraged to apply as early as possible.
Note: Most Norwegians traveling to the U.S. for business or pleasure do not need a visa. They do need to apply for an ESTA, which is done online. ESTA costs $14 USD. The easiest way to make sure you are on the official ESTA site is to go through the Embassy’s website.
