Embassy Takes Part in Arctic Frontiers

Chargé d’Affaires Jim DeHart with Emerging Leader participant Elizaveta Ershova.

On January 17-22, Chargé d’Affaires Jim DeHart participated in the Arctic Frontiers Conference and Emerging Leaders Program. The conference is an international arena for the discussion of Arctic-related issues.  The Conference brings together academia, government and business to create a firmer foundation for decision-making and sustainable economic development in the Arctic.

Many Americans attended this year, including from the U.S. Embassy Oslo, Washington, D.C., and the states of Maine and Alaska, reflecting strong U. S. interest in the Arctic.

Chargé d’Affaires Jim DeHart served as a mentor for the Arctic Frontiers Emerging Leaders Program. The program allows young professionals, PhD students and post docs focused on the Arctic to develop career enhancing networks and meet with high-level representatives from academia, business, and the public sector.
