Embassy opens doors to new neighbors

The neighbors were served homemade ice-cream sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies.

On Thursday, August 25, 2017, the U.S. Embassy in Oslo opened its doors to its new neighbors for a chance for them to have a look around, chat with embassy employees, and enjoy cookies, ice cream, and coffee. The U.S. Embassy in Oslo moved to Makrellbekken in May 2017 after having been located for 58 years in the Oslo city center. This was the first chance for neighbors to see the inside of the embassy. Chargé d’affaires Jim DeHart welcomed the guests and expressed the embassy’s commitment to being a good neighbor and becoming a part of the neighborhood. There was an arts and crafts table for kids, as well as opportunities to meet with the different sections to hear about the work they do.
