Students younger than high school age (age 5-13) may not attend public schools independently in the U.S. because these schools cannot be certified by DHS. (Children who are in the U.S. accompanying parents/guardians are not subject to these rules.)
They may, however, attend private schools. In these cases, the same rules and requirements apply as for high school students.
