Demonstration Alert – U. S. Embassy Oslo, Norway – 2 November 2019
Location: Oslo, from Trafikanten meeting point in front of the Oslo S train station and marching to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Event: A planned demonstration/ march by a group called the “Ungkurds Norge Riksforbundet” will take place this Saturday, November 2 from 14:00 to 16:00 starting at the Trafikanten meeting point in front of the Oslo S train station and marching to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The march route described has been the group’s usual route, however, it is possible the group could deviate from this path. While most demonstrations in Oslo are coordinated with local police and remain peaceful, there is the possibility of counter-demonstrations that could create a volatile situation, such as that which occurred last Saturday, October 26, involving this same group of demonstrators and another group. U.S. citizens are advised to avoid demonstrations as these events can be unpredictable.
