New National and Local COVID-19 Mitigation Measures:
On October 26, 2020, the Norwegian Government published new national restrictions to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic. These national regulations went into effect October 28 and include limitations on guests in private homes and at private events. See the national regulations press release for specifics.
Some municipalities are enforcing stricter regulations depending on their current situation. Please see the Oslo regulations press release or information from your municipality to determine the regulations in effect in your area.

In accordance with measures being taken to combat COVID-19, the U.S. Embassy in Oslo’s consular section is open for emergency appointments only for U.S. citizens on a case-by-case basis and with limited availability.
